04/18/2008 : François gives his first boost
We bandage, clean out foot, put harnesses and go!
After 20 minutes looking at the three different speeds in the tether... On saddle!

First galop:
"We went out just after noon. We followed the head horse of our friend JM, the owner of the ranch. Quiet beginning…
But quickly, from stepping, we went trotting. Painful sensation if you do not know how to make body with your horse.
I therefore tried hard to get up one time on two. We kept the cadence a certain moment then the accustomed horses
and which knew well this circuit, left “full jar” to the gallop. JM had warned me. Surprised, I hung on to my horse mane.
The best way of going to the gallop is to be in an enormous field because there is space and no risk to be banged by a tree"

My sensations :

«It is hard to explain but I liked
this sensation of takeoff, it is
unique.However, I imagined that
to gallop would be faster.
But as I have heard that it also
depends on the character
and the horse race. Therefore,
I look forward to try
with an Arabic pure blood.
"
04/19/2008:

We went out on the green roads
of Perch, maps in hands!
Break at about 4 pm in a field,
crossing of two rivers
and return at the
ranch without cuts.

07/05/2008: School training:
Level gallop 3-4

French style riding for François
and of its very specific terms
" Double in the width, the
opposite half-volte, grow longer
in the diagonal, etc. "

07/06/2008: In charge of a mission
We leave looking for JM’s horses
and return them to the ranch at
15 km away from there!
On our way, we crossed a huge
uncultivated field! Gallop “full jar”;
we take ourselves as jockeys.
Horses give themselves to
heart enjoyment!

Scratch, Scratch!

09/28/2008 : Weekend between friends

We leave at J.M’s with a couple of friends and our new buddy just arrived from
Venezuela. The day begins with the shoeing of horses, François jumps at the
opportunity in order to improve his technique. We are 4 to leave early in the
afternoon. We get lost a little in the reading of the map but finally find the good
route. First passages in the trot, our friends are looking for their position!
This first ballad takes place marvellously, horses are brilliant, our friends in trust
and the weather is absolutely beautiful. The next day, we leave in the morning for
a stage of 3 hours. The sun gives us wings and now that everybody is ground,
we are dreaming of going faster and our horses are only waiting for that!

November 2008: Training
period with Emile Brager!

Packing a charge on top of a horse does
not seem complicated at first sight but
appearances are sometimes misleading!

To charge the back of a mule or a horse
on the long term asks a knowledge
and a learning of various techniques
which Emile have tested and improved
during his various trips.

Day 1:psychological and physical profile of the packsaddle horse,
study of the military packsaddles

Day 2: work of knots, studies of civil packsaddles, work of the
leather and the introduction to the leather art work

Day 3: study of the weights of charge, various techniques of
saddle-packing and wounds of harness

Day 4: the alarms, the carpet of saddle and sweat-protectors

The fourth and last day is dedicated to learn in how to drive the
packed horse.

We strongly recommend a training course to every rider beginning
in the hike or the journey.

The choice of the packsaddle, the packing technique, the number
of team members and materials belongs to each one but it is
necessary to be introduced to the various methods to select the
one which is best convenient for you.

American

In our case, we opt for an american packsaddle, given by one
of our sponsors, leather hike bags, sweat-protector carpets
"vet bed" (used for dogs in surgery postoperative phase),
woolen-saddel-carpets receiving Sylomer plastic felt-tip squared.

care and the methods of administration, locomotive balance
assessment, deduction of the age according to study of the set
of teeth, study of balances, etc.

Practice: Observation and assistance during the visits (horses),
surgeries observation (dogs and cats), vaccination by
intramuscular ways, training to stitches on pig feet

Week 2:

May 2009: Training course at our friend's Geneviève Atger:
Preparation and try of our equipment - Natural Horsemanship

The Lot: a wonderful region!

Geneviève in the exercise of her art,
asks Jody to fold the neckline

Geneviève's students

Lead of a "train of horses" by Gwladys, with Geneviève's horses:
respectively Jerk, Jody and the old one Loupi!

Gwladys went to visit our
friend, Geneviève in her
equestrian tourism center
Rando La Fontaine.
For three weeks, she worked on
adapting her equipment and
in learning from Geneviève the
Natural Horsemanship (based on
a scientific observation of the
horse behavior in the wild life.

" The most delicate for me was
to disregard what had been
taught me within the classic
equitation school. Before going
to Geneviève's,
I had read the Natural
Horsemanship of Pat Parelli
and seen the first 4 DVD of the
Cense school but I thought that
even if so interesting was this
method, it took time before
getting to good results...
I was wrong!
The efficiency of the Natural
Horsemanship impressed me.
I will use this method to train
our horses in Mexico. "
